Moornotes Songs

Moornotes like to sing a variety of different genres, ensuring that there is something in their repertoire for everyone. The Musical Director ensures that this is the case, by asking for the choirs input on what they would like to sing. Some of the choirs personal highlights include:

  • One Day Like This (Elbow)
  • Anderson's Coast (John Warner)
  • Bring Me Little Water Silvy (Moira Smiley
  • Bethlehem (From Martin Guerre)
  • Coventry Carol (Trad.)
  • Fields of Gold (Sting / Eva Cassidy)
  • Grey Funnel Line (Cyril Tawney)
  • Make You Fee My Love (Dylan/Adele)
  • I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Marvin Gaye)
  • In My Life (The Beatles)
  • Katerina Mome (Bulgarian Folk)
  • Let the RIver Run (Carly Simon)
  • Life on Mars (David Bowie)
  • Maliswe (South African)
  • Money, Money, Money (ABBA)
  • The Parting Glass(Scottish Trad.)
  • Say Something (A Great Big World/Pentatonix)
  • Sh-Boom (The Chords)
  • Viva La Vida (Cold Play)
  • Vuelie (Frozen)

Most of the songs we sing are in three or four parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) and mostly in fairly straightforward arrangements. Although we often have the written music for songs, they're primarily learnt "by ear" so the ability to read music is not a requirement.
